Micro Teaching

Image
Micro-teaching is a teacher training and faculty development technique whereby the teacher reviews a recording of a teaching session, in order to get constructive feedback from peers and/or students about what has worked and what improvements can be made to their teaching technique. Microteaching is a teacher training technique that allows aspiring educators to practice and refine their teaching skills in a reduced setting, typically with a smaller group of learners. It involves one student teacher, the class instructor, and a small group of peers. The technique involves the steps of “plan, teach, observe, re-plan, re-teach, and re-observe”. Microteaching provides teachers with the opportunity to review their own performance and receive feedback on their ability and developing skill as a teacher.1 It is a proven method to attain gross improvement in the instructional experiences and is often a requirement if you are working towards a teaching qualification.
